Remember all the things that need to be finished? Well, they're happening, only not in the right order. Monday night Johnny and his dad went to Beaumont and bought a 2004 John Deere lawnmower, 48" cut. Pretty exciting, huh? It's a standard transmission and it has lights. So, that was checked off the list at least. Also on Monday, I got my hair done- always a treat! (and another big to-do checked off the list.)
Yesterday Johnny had a test on campus, even though it wasn't his usual school day. It was for his online course. He's been stressed out lately and when he gets that way he forgets things. So, he forgot his backpack, which had his scantron and pencils. Oh well, right? He went to the bookstore and bought more. That afternoon at about 2:30, he calls me and tells me he locked himself out of his car and that I would have to bring him keys. AHHH! So I picked up Katherine from school and helped her with her music assignment and we had an after-school snack. Then I dropped her off at music and arranged for her to stay there until we got back. It's an hour and ten minutes to get to Johnny's school. I popped a DVD in for the kids and we were off. It's really a beautiful trip, just not expected. Anyway, we got home at about 7 o'clock and I decided to check out the new mower. I mowed our yard until almost 9!!! The kids bedtime is 8! They had a great time running around outside and helping Johnny put our boat in the garage, though. Anyway, we live on 3 acres and of course I didn't finish it all, and there's still trimming to do. But that's checked off the list.
When we planned this week, we planned for the kids to sleep in the living room all week until their room was finished. Monday we made these plans and Monday Johnny found out he had a test on Tuesday and another big one next week. Monday night was getting the mower, Tuesday was a test and mowing/cleaning out garage, Wednesday is ????? I need the room finished so badly! I can't seem to even be motivated to finish folding/putting away the laundry because it seems like the entire house is a disaster! It's like we're living in the same "camp out" conditions that we did during the hurricane, except then it didn't bother me and now it does. Somehow being forced to live in less than desirable conditions seems easier than this- I guess it's because I wasn't newly pregnant then. I was pregnant, and I was miserable dealing with the heat, but morning sickness has it's own way of ruining a lot of things.
I've picked out a color for the walls, but I have not gone to pick up the paint- lack of faith I guess. Well, speaking of paint, it's time to go paint my barn. Pray we can finish the room!
