Everything goes through upheaval in the spring...

"Everything goes through upheaval in the spring, wouldn't you say?" One my favorite quotes from IQ- it's so true. Especially for me this spring. Johnny, my husband, is going to college, Katherine is 6 and in kindergarten, Travis is 4 1/2 and full of questions and rambunctious, Olivia is 2 1/2 and likes things her way, Ella is just shy of 15 months and an extremely cautious walker, and I am pregnant with our fifth child and experiencing the vengeance of the first trimester along with my family. Poor things!

So many things I love about springtime... I love the flowers and colorful trees. Our yard is looking particularly lush today, in much need of a good mowing, but it will have to wait. We've undertaken an enormous project a couple of weeks ago- sheet rocking our kids room. We've hung the sheet rock and put up bead board, and we've begun the taping and floating. I'm afraid I've made commitments I cannot keep. I told Johnny I could float and tape the room if he would show me how- but that was before the "yucky" feelings of pregnancy. This project was supposed to take us a week, it's quickly turning into three or more, much to my chagrin. For this project too will have to wait... yes, Johnny's planned a lovely camping trip for us this weekend with some family. I'm really wondering what I was thinking agreeing to this under the circumstances. Of course, it was weeks ago and I wasn't feeling pregnant and was sure we'd have the room finished. Who cares about the yard, that will come soon I'm sure. It's lunchtime now and I need to feed my darling children. Only a few hours until the sound of birds, crickets and lurking critters around a crackling campfire.... I am looking forward to the s'mores though!
