Back 2 sChOOL

We have three, count 'em, 1, 2, 3(!) kids going to school this year!
Imagine the amount of school supplies...

Oh wait- you don't have to! haha That's right! I took a picture ;)

Do ya think ALL that will fit into 3 backpacks?

Let's see...

It ALL fit! Well, almost ALL.

Friday was "Meet the Teacher" day from 1:00-3:45 p.m.
We had a great day getting ready- we watched "Darby O'Gill and the Little People".
Have you seen that movie? That's when I fell in love with Sean Connery. *sigh*
While we watched, we even painted our nails!
(Except Travis of course, he was completely against it. hehe)

Olivia will be in Mrs. Griffin's kindergarten class.
We decided to send her this year rather than wait until she's six.
She was SO excited to meet her teacher and see her new classroom :)

Travis's classroom is just down the hall from Olivia's. His teacher's are Mrs. Horn (homeroom) and Mrs. Carlson (math/science). Can you believe that in 2nd grade, they switch classes?!

Sweet Katherine is in a building all by herself (same campus), all the way in 3rd grade!
She's got 4 different teachers every day. Mrs. Strickland is her homeroom teacher, then she has Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. Christian and Mrs. Williams. I hope more teachers won't mean more homework :( Last year, homework took up her entire evening, almost nightly. I wondered if the teachers were just giving too much ??

It's going to be a great year!

  2. I know...homework that takes forever in 2nd grade! Did she at least learn something????? I have heard that there is a "new(er) math" in teaching multiplication...it involves boxes like a grid. It is very weird.
