18 months
Bryn turned 18 months on Cinco de Mayo! We didn't do much celebrating for either event, but I did want to share a cute memory of that day. We have a boat that, incidentally is for sale, and we took it out to the lake to run it and make sure it's running good. (It's a 1998 Bayliner Capri 18'- let me know if you're interested.) So we're in the van, headed home and the kids are talking and playing with each other and Johnny and I are talking. Bryn yells, "Ma-ma! MA-MA!" I turn around and she says, smiling, "Na! Na!" (short o sound) I figured out she was trying to say, "Knock! Knock!" I laughed and said, "Who's there?" And she busted out laughing. She kept doing this over and over! She hears the kids tell their own made-up knock knock jokes! She's turning into a little comedian!!
I've always looked forward to my kids turning 18 months because they are old enough to go to nursery at church. (For those who don't know, nursery is for babies 18 mos-3 years.) 18 months is a mile marker. Normally. But for Bryn to turn 18 months means absolutely NOTHING. Our Branch is too small for us to have a nursery leader. The Branch Presidency would have to call a new member or someone that is already in a presidency (Relief Society is the only fully functioning Presidency with 2 counselors). I'm sad that Bryn doesn't get that. I'm sad for me too! lol Maybe someday, before she's 2... lol
(Did you know that Olivia was 18 months old when Ella was born! There's a little Ratcliff trivia for ya! LOL- and no, we're not announcing anything.)

So do you just take Bryn with you to class? Does everyone else too? How does that change the lessons, if any? Oh, I miss the branch feeling....CA is so darn big and so far impersonable.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I didn't realize that you didn't have a nursery! That stinks because I can remember counting down to eighteen months when I could finally get some peace at church! :) I'm sure you'll get a nursery as your branch grows.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Where'd they get those long ol' legs? :-) They look so grown up. And I can't imagine Ella talking like crazy! Can't wait to see them someday soon...
