Rate MY Space

Last Friday we moved into our new bedroom! What a great way to end Spring Break! The bathroom and closet are not finished yet, so I'll post those pictures later.

Here's what it looks like so far...

View from bedroom door. This is the bathroom door.

Still looking at bathroom door. You can see the vaulted ceiling and the ready to decorate wall.

The left side of the room. Johnny's nightstand on the right and mine on the left. (We're so excited to have nightstands! We've NEVER had any! These were on sale at Walmart and they're real wood!)

His nightstand.

Her nightstand.

Need to do something about the braker box... ? And again, decorate the wall.

This is the view from the bathroom door- looking at bedroom door. The doors still need to be painted, but it's the least of my worries.

Still bedroom door. The unfinished closet space is our last project. Johnny wants to make it a lockable gun closet. It'll be finished much later.

View from the bed. We plan to make a portable fireplace with a mantle and put a tv above it. After Johnny graduates of course. Maybe next winter.

Our home gym. When we designed the floor plan for the room, we made sure to leave enough space for the Soloflex. Our closet will be custom so we won't need a dresser/chest-of-drawers. Also, the window has duct-tape because it broke while we scraped paint off it :(

Well, we've made it all the way around the room. We're going to put a creamy-colored rug down and get a headboard. Not sure what color of curtains yet.

Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas or suggestions.

  1. It looks so great! It's very Melba inspired with the red walls. I love it and you did such an awesome job.

  2. Thanks Melissa! Actually, the walls are a brown color from Ace Hardware. It's called "Truffle." We painted the bathroom a shade lighter, "Badger Brown" and the closet a shade lighter than that, "Crossroads". The bathroom has beadboard just like the bedroom, but the closet doesn't.

  3. I LOVE the beadboard! Want to put it all over my house. . . Saw a cute idea for breaker box on a DIY show. . . Put a framed cork board over it that is easy to remove. Keep up the great work. . . You inspire me!
