Katherine and Politics

Katherine came home from school yesterday with some disturbing news. Her eyes got big and, as if she needed to inform me, said, "Mom, there is a man who wants to be president and is name is Osama. He should not be president because he is going to make 8 year old boys kill other 8 year old boys and little girls go into slavery!" I kept a straight face and asked, "Who told you that?" Her answer may surprise you..."My sub!" Apparently she had a substitute yesterday. Who knows if she was overhearing an adult conversation or if the "sub" actually was talking to her! I told Katherine that won't happen, and the man's name is Obama, not Osama. LOL Incidentally, Michelle Obama called last night! Johnny answered and didn't feel too chatty, so he hung up on her. lol

    That's kind of funny, but scary at the same time. If that sub was talking to the kids, he/she had no business scaring 7 year olds like that. I hope he doesn't become president, but wow. Just goes to show, you never know when kids are listening and how they understand it.

    The Michelle Obama thing was a pre-recorded message. It was the first day of early voting in Texas. So, yes, she really did call! lol

    Holy Cow! I hope that sub doesn't come back....even if she was talking to someone else she would have known that kids were around! I'm all riled up! LOL
