Spookables!

Last Friday was Hemphill's Homecoming. Every year for Homecoming the kids get out early from school and there is a parade. This year Johnny got to go with us- it was lots of fun, although, the parade only lasts about 10 minutes. *Maybe that isn't a bad thing...

The Little Green Band.

This is what you get when you ask a stranger to take your picture.

All the floats threw candy and the people next to us gave us a gallon storage bag that we filled up! We saved it all for Trick-or-Treaters! Recycle, recycle.

After the parade we hurried over to Lufkin for the ZOO BOO! We didn't dress the kids in costumes but they did wear their Halloween shirts.

The Lufkin Zoo opened from 6-9 p.m. and had booths inside the zoo with games and candy. It was so packed!

Very few of the animals were visible- the nocturnal ones, of course. I think the other animals were freaked out because it was after normal Zoo hours. We got to see the owls and raccoons and snakes and bats- very festive!

The next night we had our Branch Halloween Party at our house. This time the kids did get to wear their costumes and they looked SO cute!

Here they are with our Primary President, Sister Cantrell, and Katherine's BFF Selena Packard and her nephew, Baby George. Aren't they cute? Travis was Batman and Katherine, Olivia and Ella were all cheerleaders. Bryn just wore her Halloween shirt because it was too warm to wear her lion costume.

For FHE Monday night, we carved pumpkins! Elder Hanson and Elder Harris came and helped and we had such a good time.

Eat your heart out Cari! We free-handed it this year!

Olivia and Ella started getting ready for Trick or Treating while the other kids were at school. Olivia got a belated birthday gift- a Fancy Nancy dress! (Thanks Melissa!!) Since she needed to be fancy, she wore curlers all day. Ella wanted to join in...

Doesn't she look fancy?

She's holding Frency, Fancy Nancy's dog. (Katherine's birthday gift.)

Trick-or-treat!

Happy Halloween from the Ratcliffs!

It looks like you guys had a blast. And, by the way, did you get a dog? I must have missed the blog on the dog.

  5. No Holli- you didn't miss the dog post. This is the dog post! lol A dog showed up after our Branch Halloween party and we've sort-of let her stay. The Elders that live behind us named her Bullet- but I think that name will change soon. Any suggestions?
