Looking Forward

As I thought about this new year and all the changes that come with it, I realized we have a lot to look forward to and enjoy!

• First, Johnny just started a new semester of school. He's taking two 5-week courses right now: Health Assessment and Health Promotion. Starting at the end of March, he'll start two 8-week courses: Elementary Statistical Analysis and American Literature. Over the summer he will take 2 tests to get 2 certifications that will look good for grad school and count toward 2 electives for his BSN. That leaves three courses for fall: two nursing courses and State and Local Government. And then GRADUATION and grad school applications!!!! We are definitely throwing a graduation party and inviting everyone!

• This spring or summer Samuel will be potty-trained! I always wait until my kids are 2 1/2 to potty train- it seems to be the perfect age for them to communicate and not regress. Couple of days to a week and we're done with diapers forever! (Hope I didn't just jinx myself! Haha!) He'll be 2 1/2 in March, so maybe Spring Break if it feels right. Kind of exciting and scary!

• In August, we will have 2 in middle school and 3 in elementary! Yes-that means 5 in school and only 1 at home. Bryn will start kindergarten!! I've never had only 1 at home before! It's going to be very interesting to see how Samuel and I get along and entertain one another ;)

• Samuel will turn 3 this year! :( That is really close to NOT being a baby anymore. This is his last year in Nursery (at church). THAT is sad. And shortly after his birthday...

• Katherine will be a teenager!!!! Officially. So exciting!

• And finally, Ella will turn 8 after all this and that means BAPTISM! What a way to end the year!

I didn't talk about selling the house as one of the things that will happen this year. While the house is still on the market, I'm not anxious to sell it. :/ We've been here almost 2 years now and I'm really liking my house more and more- so that probably means that once Spring gets here, it'll sell. I know it would be a blessing, but it will be very bittersweet. *sigh*

The view ahead is looking pretty bright!

  1. I love this PREview of the year, it's like a holiday letter in reverse, it tells of the upcoming joys not the past joys, you're so creative :)
